With county officials still trying to figure out the most efficient way to repair the sinkhole in Fraser, a Shelby Township company has emerged and has been awarded the contract to do just that. Dan’s Excavating will be the company responsible for reconstruction of the collapsed pipeline along 15 Mile Road.
The contract to repair the pipe is worth 32.7 million dollars.
Dan’s Excavating says they believe they can have the pipe repaired by September, which is quite a bit ahead of schedule.
The pipe collapsed on Christmas Eve forcing dozens of residents to be evacuated from their homes, so for this to get fixed within the year is a real positive hope.
Macomb County Public Works Commissioner Candice Miller says she hopes the repair and road reconstruction will be complete by Thanksgiving.
