We first introduced you to Utica High School senior Carina Willcock last January.
At the time, the overachieving student was working on her senior project, which required 24 hours of community service work.
“It’s come a long way and it’s grown a lot bigger than I had originally intended,” Willcock says.
The care kits include a book, stuffed animal and interactive doctor bag.
Willcock was diagnosed with diabetes when she was 22-months old.
“It’s one thing for a doctor to tell (kids) what to expect, but more than anything they want a kid to tell them what to expect,” says Dr. Bernard Degnan, of Royal Oak’s Beaumont Hospital.
